A Message from Principal Williams
January 2026
Dear Students, Families and Staff of Queens Transition Center,
It is a privilege to serve as the Interim Acting Principal of Queens Transition Center (752Q). Since joining this school community, I have had the opportunity to meet many of our students, families, and staff, and I am grateful for the trust, partnership, and warmth that have been extended to me.
I would like to take a moment to share a bit more about who I am and the experiences that guide my work. I have been an educator with the New York City Public Schools for over 20 years, serving in a range of roles including classroom teacher, dean, and assistant principal. Throughout my career, I have worked in various school communities, including I.S. 238Q in Jamaica, Queens, where I began my career as an English Language Arts Teacher. I then served as an English Language Arts/Special Education teacher, Dean and Acting Assistant Principal at M.S. 53Q in Far Rockaway, Queens. I joined District 75 in 2018 as an Assistant Principal at P188X in the Bronx. These experiences have shaped my deep commitment to equity, inclusion, safety, and ensuring that every student, especially students with diverse learning needs, feels supported, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
At Queens Transition Center, my priority remains the same: to listen, learn, and build on the strong foundation that already exists. I am committed to working collaboratively with our staff, families, and community partners to strengthen systems and practices that support student growth, independence, and successful transitions to life beyond school.
Your voice as families is essential to this work. I truly value your ideas, feedback, and partnership, whether through school-wide events, family workshops, or ongoing communication. When families and schools work together, students thrive and that belief guides everything we do here.
I am excited about what lies ahead for our school community and look forward to continuing this journey together. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership as we support our students today and prepare them for tomorrow.
Warm regards,
Asia WilliamsPrincipal, IA
